Bellur Krsnamcharia Sundarada Ayangar, more broadly known as BKS Ayangar, (1918-2014) is one of the 20th century. Yoga legends. Yoga has mastered a prominent Guru Sri Tirumala under the guidance of Krišnamarja. Over time, Ayangar himself began to teach yoga, developing and improving the method that made it accessible to humans of different ages and physical abilities. His special approach to Hathayoga became known as Ayangar Yoga, a name that Ayangar himself never recognized, continuing to repeat that « Yoga is a universal art ».

Books Light over yoga. Yoga The opening will take place on May 15, 2025 at 6 pm in the Friends of the National Library of Latvia. The opening of the book with its presence will be honored by BKS Ayengar’s granddaughter Abidge Ayengar. From India, she will come to Latvia to lead the Latvian Ajengar Yoga IV Convention (May 16-18 in Riga; more information https://bksiyengar.lv/; (Email Protected)). Abidge Ajengar Yoga began to be learned at the age of 16 under his grandfather and is currently one of the most experienced Ayangar Yoga lecturers.
