Prussia leaves work in the Latvian bobsleigh team; The new coaches will be named next week / day
It has already been reported that at the end of April, the previous Latvian bobsleigh team head coach Sandis Prussis expressed his readiness to leave the position of coach.
« Prussis has left the position of head coach, » Judeika confirmed. « There were two coaches in the team – Prussia and Jānis Ozols, and none of them will continue to work. »
Judeika assured that the search for new coaches was over.
« At the beginning of next week, the first team training camp before next year will take place, and we will name the new team coaches, » says LBSF Secretary General, adding that the coaching team will have both domestic and foreign specialists.
At the LBSF members’ meeting on April 28, Prussia called the last season the worst in 19 years, allowing the coach that he might not continue to lead the team.
After closing the career of Emil Cipul, after the 2023/2024 season last season, only one crew represented Latvia in the World Cup and the World Cup.
The Calenda team finished ninth in both doubles and four in the World Cup standings, while the World Cup took 11th place in the doubles competition and 15th in the four.
Pilot Renārs Grantiņš team played the season in the European Cup, where he won second place in the two -place competition, but took ninth in the four, securing two places for the Latvian team next season, both in the doubles and four.
