PRR. Government believes that housing deadlines will be fulfilled
The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing admitted delays in the execution of the projects provided for in the Housing Component of the Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PRR). However, Miguel Pinto Luz said he continued to “believe” that the deadlines will be fulfilled.
« We continue to believe and convinced that we will fulfill PRR. In fact, it has to be a national challenge, a challenge that is responsible for all the conclusion and we can fulfill this design of 26,000 fires in June 2026, » said the minister.
Miguel Pinto Luz, who visited this afternoon some of the ongoing housing projects in Alcanena and delivered the first six keys under the affordable income program, acknowledged that « the challenges are huge. » However, he insisted that he continues to “believe”, giving the example of the work developed in that county.
« We continue to believe that it is possible, we will be able to do and, with examples such as Alcanena, surely we will do so, » he said. According to Lusa agency, the ruler pointed out that the causes for delays are identified and solutions to overcome them will be found.
Referring to the “price of construction” and the “subsidiary that existed in the various programs”, Miguel Pinto Luz praised the work of the current government, which made a “herculean effort to increase training, increase the response of the state budget (…) to be able to fulfill” PRR.
« In the coming months we will see this increasingly accelerated pace to complete the 26,000 fires (until June 2026), which we accelerated to 10,000 extra, which will also be financed 100%, and so we believe we got, with the help of municipalities, » he said.
