Proud of the champions waving the red flag in the international arena

Athletes supported by the Municipality of Tirana have raised the name of Albania in important international competitions by achieving historical success. Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, through a post on social networks, has mentioned well -known names such as Luiza Gega, Chermen Valiev, Islam Dudaev, Lara Colturi and Matvei Petrov and the titles that have been kidnapped for Albania. He points out that behind these historical achievements lies the institutional support given to the athletes through the Tirana sports club.

For us, Albanians, there is no greater pride than when we see the red flag to wave high, in the most prestigious sports arenas of Europe or the world. And this has happened not a few times in the last few years, when our athletes have come to the top, with successes that have already entered history.

Luiza Gega was declared European champion in Athletics in 2022. Chermen Valiev and Islam Dudaev gave Albania two Bronzi Olympic medals in Paris 2024. A few months ago, Lara Colturi took the place of the sub -champion in the World Cup in Austria. Matvei Petrov won the Gold Medal at the European Gymnastics Championship in 2020. And many other athletes have achieved great results for the country, thanks to their work, dedication and determination to always set the most, setting an example for young athletes.

But you know what they have in common? Sport Club Tirana. When we took the task, we decided to help any talented athlete, whether by creating the conditions needed to train, whether rewarding them as champions. The city said: Whoever brings a medal or a title will be rewarded for the effort and success it has given to the place.

So we also began the good practice of giving premium for the capital city teams that won the National Football Championship, such as Tirana and Partizani.
