Protest of medical staff from Tetovo Clinical Hospital
Dozens of people engaged in work contracts at the Tetovo Clinical Hospital held a public protest in the institution of unpaid royalties and the fact that they did not receive new contracts. According to them, it is about 140 people who are engaged as nurses and technicians, paramedics and administration, who have been expecting a new contract for the third month, as well as paying royalties in two months. A permanent solution, ie their employment for an indefinite period of time, is also required.
– Our demands are to give us the promise. I have been for six years, I work with a contract, and there are colleagues who are more than ten years. Both the previous government and this government promise us solutions, but we do not have them. We have been without a salary for two months, we have no contracts. I think we are working hard, both patients and colleagues know and do not support I think we need to get the solutions that have been promised for a long time. We have no salaries for two months and we have no patience – the nurses and other engaged people said.
They say they have also worked at the time of the Pandemic with Kovid and are constantly waiting for the lasting solution.
-We work with a contract without health insurance and without experience, with interruptions, the contracts are sometimes at two, sometimes at six months, the contracts have not been all year round. We have had interruptions. Here are about 140 people, medical staff nurses, paramedics, administrators – the medics said at the protest.
The group gathered in front of the Emergency Center then headed to the administrative building to talk to director Agim Berisha. He received three representatives who explained that they were awaiting approval from the Ministry of Finance.
– We as a clinical hospital insist on resolving your case. Only not to us, we have made them approve of the Ministry of Finance. We have received approval from the Ministry of Health to extend the contracts from the third month to 12 months. We haven’t received any finance, we are making efforts, we are still waiting for you to get approval so that you will be paid on time – Agim Berisha said before the nurses and the media.
According to the Government’s director, efforts are made to find a way for all persons engaged in a contract of acting and employing indefinitely.
