Prosperity more important than climate action


According to a new Icelandic generation measurement, it is stated that Icelanders consider health and well -being more important than climate action. Young people want increased prosperity according to the results of the survey, which were published at the prosperity of Harpa.

Actions in climate change most important 2021

By 2021, climate action was the world goals that most of the Z-generation considered most important, or about 59%. Two years later, there were major changes, but the World Goal Health and Wellness were usually chosen and climate action was in fourth place.

All generations except the boom generation felt health and well -being were the most important goal. The boom generation consisting of those born in the years 1946-1964, considered peace and justice to be the most important world goal. All generations had in common in 2021 that climate action was the most important. Now, most such actions do not consider it to be as important.

This was the third time the generation measurement was carried out and the 2,500 people answered the survey.
