Prosecution leads 6 police officers for abuse of office and corruption

6 Road Police officers in Elbasan will go to court, as the prosecution accuses them of imposing no fines on drivers, although they found violations of traffic rules. They did not impose fines, although they found violations by the drivers, the Elbasan Prosecutor’s Office sends six police officers to ‘passive corruption’ and abuse of office ‘. Citizens Xh.S, EH, Father, N.X police officer at the Road Traffic Section in the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, are respectively charged with committing the offense of « Passive Corruption of Persons Exercising Public Functions » and « Abuse of Duty », more than once provided by Article 259/1, 248. Whereas the citizen EK, BT, for the commission of the offense of « Abuse of office » in co -operation, provided by Articles 248 and 25 of the Criminal Code.

During their activity, these police officers, in cooperation with each other, although they found cases of administrative offenses of drivers did not intentionally proceed with the imposition of administrative measure by damaging state interest and public interest.

The prosecution at the Elbasan General Jurisdiction Court calls on citizens to denounce any kind of corrupt act or abuse of any public official in order to place them with criminal liability.
