Projects for « Angels in America have begun in MNT

At the Macedonian National Theater, rehearsals for the theater play « Angels in America » ​​(first part) by Tony Kushner, directed, translated and choreographed by Filip Petkovski. Producer is Petar Antevski, stage designer Martin Manev, costume designer Antonija Guginska-Jordanoska, and assistant director Antonija Belazelkovska.
The play is implemented as a co -production project between the Macedonian National Theater and the Association for Affirmation of Theater Art « Turn » from Skopje.
The process of working on the play will take place during April and May, and its premiere is expected at the end of May. The play features: Jordan Simonov, Tanja Kocovska, Natalia Teodosieva, Damjan Cvetanovski, Stefan Spasov, Aleksandar Stoimenovski, Ilin Jovanovski and Nela Pavlovska.
« Angels in America » ​​is one of the most important dramatic works of the modern American Theater, which shows the life, politics and identity of the United States in the 1980s, at the time of AIDS crisis and conservative political rise. Translation, adaptation and stage setting are expected to offer a modern and relevant reading of this powerful work in the Macedonian context.
With this production, MNT and « turn » continue their mission to adopt current, challenging and artistic strong projects on the Macedonian scene.
