Product recall: cannabis in cola -shaped fruit gum

Haribo calls a few kilo bags of the « Happy Cola F! ZZ » variety because cannabis is contained in them. The Dutch Food and Product Safety Authority (NVWA) already announced on May 30 that there are health complaints after eating the product in question. Now Haribo is calling back the product.

The cannabis fruit gums have a shelf life by January 2026 and are available in 1,000 gram packs. This emerges from a joint press announcement by the Belgian agency for the safety of the food chain (AFSCA) and Haribo, which was published on May 31. Products with the code L341-4002307906 are affected, all other products can be consumed safely.

The consumption of the affected products can lead to health symptoms such as dizziness, the statement continues. In addition to the Netherlands and Belgium, Luxembourg, which is initiated by Haribo, also affects Luxembourg. As the Luxembourg consumer protection organization ULC reports, the product « via Pick & Mix stands (loose) is sold in certain ‘total’ petrol stations. Sales by other operators cannot be excluded. »

If you have the product in question at home, you should not bring it back to the shop, but are asked to send it to the Belgian headquarters in an continent. The purchase price will be refunded when a bank details are notified. The NVWA is currently investigating the cause of the problem in cooperation with Haribo.
