– Problem children’s behavior deprive classmates’ security

The main committee for upbringing, culture and integration (HOKI) has dealt with an action plan for violence and threats in the school on Tuesday. Alta Frp is pleased that such a plan has come into place, because it is no secret that the Oslo School’s problems have now become part of the Alta school’s problems.

Since school starts, 158 violence cases have been reported, 81 of which are from January to April. It is worrying that this has become the reality, and we in Frp wonder if this would have looked different if we had received fewer refugees.

In the plan there are a number of measures for how violence incidents should be handled, one of these is that in special cases the perpetrator should change school. What I wonder is what a special case is, how far should the perpetrator be able to go before it meets real consequences?

Of course, I fully understand that the municipality should follow the Education Act §13-2, which we discussed today at the meeting. We at Frp chose to promote a amendment to the point, where we wanted the wording to be changed from special cases, to the fact that at a lower limit it can lead to school exchange for perpetrators. As far as I see, this is not in violation of the Education Act, which the position thought it was.

It worries me that the position does not want to take responsibility for the students who problem children today rob the security of pupils in the Alta school. We want to do this in the Progress Party, and we think it is a pity that our proposal to implement this in the plan was voted down.
