Princess Claire participated on Saturday morning in a boxing training at Sport2be in Anderlecht. The aim of that organization is to promote the integration of young people in difficulties through sport.

Sport2BE offers free weekly sports activities for young people aged 6 to 25 from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Brussels, such as the Kuregemwijk in Anderlecht. This includes boxing, basketball, dance, football, hockey and strength training. Almost 2,000 young people from Brussels participate in the activities.

« Sport is universal, apolitical and is practiced without distinction by all layers of the population. It is a formidable instrument to help young people gain self -confidence and to ensure their physical and mental well -being, » said the association, which is supported by the Queen Paola foundation.

Sport2be was founded in 2018 and wants to offer young people a springboard by supporting them in their education, career choices and entry into professional life. Since 2021, a professional integration center has been part of the organization, so that 221 first professional experiences could already be gained.

This season, more than 700 young people participated in activities to support them in their professional development (company visits, workshops, introductions with employers, individual coaching, support in drawing up a CV, …).

Around 11 am Princess Claire started with a boxing lesson together with a dozen young people and some coaches. The lesson included jumping string, push-ups and boxing training per two. « We are very happy that this visit has put our association, its coaches and all young people participating in our activities in the spotlight. We strongly believe in the power of sport as an instrument for integration, » said Sport2BE founder Tanguy Nève.
