Prince Harry, at the center of a new scandal
The head of a charitable organization founded by Prince Harry To help young people with HIV and AIDS from Lesotho and Botswana accused King Charles III of ‘harassment and intimidation’ after Harry announced that he withdraws from this organization at the end of an dispute he described as ‘devastating’, reports Reuters.
Prince Harry co-established the Sentebal Organization in 2006, in memory of his mother, Princess Diana. He left this organization, along with the other co-founder, Prince Seeiso de Lesotho and the five members of the Board of Directors, after a dispute with the chairman of the Board of Directors, Sophie Chandauka.
« On Tuesday, Prince Harry authorized the publication of a harmful news without informing me or my regional directors or the executive director, » said Sky News Sophie Chandauka. ‘Can you imagine what effect this attack had on me and the 540 workers in the senteor branches and their families? This is an example of large -scale harassment and intimidation, « she added.
Prince Harry’s representatives and his wife, Meghan, did not immediately respond to the requests to comment on these statements, and Sky News said that the two refused to formally respond to the charges in the interview.
A source close to the administrators of the organization and Harry said they expected this reaction from the President of the Board of Directors and made the decision to withdraw from the organization taking into account it. The same source said that they firmly maintain their decision to resign.
Princes Harry and Seeiso said on Wednesday, in a common press release, that it is ‘devastating’ to break without the possibility of reconciling the relationship between the administrators of the charitable organization and Chandauka. They stated that the members of the Board of Directors acted in the interest of the charitable organization when they asked Chandauka to resign, but in the change he sued his position.
Chandauka has previously accused that the Sentebal Organization is affected by ‘weak leadership, weak executive management, abuse of power, harassment, intimidation, misogyny and even racism towards women of color. In an interview for the Financial Times published on Sunday, she claimed that Harry’s team asked to protect Meghan after a series of negative news in the press, which she refused to do.
