Prime Minister of the UK visit to the Prime Minister, meeting with Rama
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has welcomed his British counterpart, Keir Starmer, with an official ceremony, who is staying in Albania for the first time in an official visit.
Keir Starmer was received by Rama in front of the Prime Minister’s Office to precede a « head -to -head » meeting together.
« For the first time in Albania, the British Prime Minister pays this official visit in the framework of strengthening bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries, » Rama said.
During his stay, Starmer is expected to declare new measures aimed at stopping the return of Albanian citizens previously expelled from the UK, as well as strengthening cooperation to crack down on criminal activities, including money laundering.
As part of this initiative, it will donate two specialized devices for detecting forged documents, with the aim of identifying more easily identifying individuals trying to use fake passports.
Starmer is also expected to make public the expansion of the joint working group on migration issues, including in this initiative, Macedonia of North and Montenegro, in order to create a wider regional approach to this challenge.
