Prime Minister and leader of Australian Central Leveli Labor Party declares victory in parliamentary elections
Prime Minister and leader of the Australian Central Leader Labor Party, Anthony Albanese, declared victory in today’s parliamentary elections.
« I thank the people of Australia for giving me the opportunity to continue to serve the most beautiful country in the world, » Albaneese said in Sydney.
Earlier it was reported that the Labor Party won today’s parliamentary elections, following a tough race in an outsider for the fear of voters on US President Donald Trump’s influence, agencies note.
Only a few months ago, in February, the right center still seemed like a probable winner of the vote, as voters blamed the Albanian government of increasing the cost of living, which was the main political issue that affected society.
But all that has changed after Trump’s first steps as president, with the introduction of customs duties around the world, including Australia. So voters turned their backs on Australian Conservatives, who were considered too politically linked to the US president and who led to public opinion polls just months earlier.
Albaneze has been prime minister since 2022, when he replaced Scott Morrison and the Liberal Party -led coalition
