Within the scope of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations, students visited the state and government officials. In this context, President Ersin Tatar accepted the student delegation led by Elçin Altan, the Principal of 9 Eylül Primary School.

In the new Presidential Campus, President Tatar transferred his duty to Melin Kunt, a student of 9 Eylül Primary School.

President Ersin Tatar, in his speech addressed to children, said that he was very happy to host the student delegation in the first acceptance of the new Presidential building.

« A date is written here today. You are the first visitors I hosted in this building. » Tatar said that the photo taken with the students will be a historical document in this sense and that this special moment will be a valuable souvenir for children in the future.

Emphasizing the meaning and importance of April 23 in his speech, Tatar recalled that the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gave this holiday to not only Turkish children but also to all children of the world, “Children are our future.” he said. Addressing students, Tatar drew attention to the importance of developments in culture, arts, sports and social fields as well as education.

Tatar emphasized that social skills, art and sport also play a major role in order to become a good individual. Stating that they can improve their talents from photography to music, from painting to sports, Tatar said, “You will manage this country one day. So develop yourself in every aspect.” He said.

Following the address of Tatar to children, the authority room in the Presidency was passed. Here, Melin Kunt, a student of 9 September Primary School, took over the Presidential authority from Ersin Tatar.
