President Ersin Tatar issued a congratulatory message on May 19, 1919, when Atatürk went to Samsun and started the War of Independence and later declared this date as “Youth and Sports Day”.

“The Turkish Cypriot people adopted the Kemalist thought despite all the difficulties, inspired by Him in his own struggle for existence and established his own sovereign state at the end of a long, arduous process.

What is essential for us is to walk to the future in health with freedom, sovereignty and confidence. For this, we will work nonstop, together with our young people and our people will achieve the best one for our country.

The Turkish Cypriot will continue to walk to more beautiful tomorrows by protecting your youth without sacrificing Kemalist thought and modernity.
