According to a statement made by the Presidency, President Tatar stressed that in his message published on May 10-16 due to the week of Disabled, the demands of the disabled and the rights-based struggles of the disabled, it has become an accepted approach to a global sense that disability is a matter of human rights ”.
Tatar said in his message:
“Now the disabled people have been accepted as autonomous individuals who have been decided by others and are in need of protection and assistance.
Since 1948, when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted, a number of international contracts that define civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights, which will benefit all humanity under the auspices of the United Nations, have been negotiated and agreed. These conventions have revealed the basic principles in the protection and promotion of all people, including disabled people, and the obligations of states. Although it is accepted that the rights of the disabled people are naturally guaranteed with the rights of other individuals, it is accepted in the global sense that other individuals are deprived of fundamental rights and freedoms in practice.
This approach has gained official by the UN adoption by the UN in 2006 by the UN in 2006.
In the seventy -fourth combination of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Republican Republic of the Republic of Northern Cyprus (1) of the Constitution (1) of the Constitution regarding the approval of the contract on the rights of the disabled people unanimously accepted in the Official Gazette in the Official Gazette. However, some problems continue in practice.
All stakeholders will create conditions to eliminate the obstacles in front of the disabled in our country, develop rehabilitation and support services, provide adequate social protection, create inclusive policies and programs, and enforce existing laws. The action plan prepared after the workshop has been sent to the relevant institutions and organizations and as a close follower of the issue, it will be our goal to ensure the full and effective participation of our disabled individuals by eliminating their disabled problems.
The ideal that activates me is a country where we all can lead a healthy, comfortable and dignified life. With the realization of this ideal, we will ensure the establishment of a society where disabled people can also live a happy and comfortable life, inclusive and overcome. ”
