President Ersin Tatar issued a message on April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.

President Tatar’s message is as follows:

“105 years ago, our homeland in Türkiye, as the most important authority of the national will as the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, not only for the geography we are, but also for all the oppressed nations of the world heralded the beginning.

For us, April 23 is the celebration of two holidays together. The first is national sovereignty. The national sovereignty, which paves the way to the Republic, is the most powerful expression of its own determination and determination of the great Turkish nation in its own homeland with its own will and its own power.

If the Turkish Cypriot people live freely and independently in their homeland as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in their own homeland, in their own state, in the struggle for national identity and existence, the unshakable commitment to the thought of national sovereignty.

From the very beginning of the colonial administration, our people have given courage to protect the national identity and culture and to protect their own future and free will. Our homeland Türkiye has always been with the Turkish Cypriot people in all these processes.

Another feast of April 23 is about our children. This holiday, which is the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, a gift to children, is an expression of how important our next generations are to strengthen the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for us.
