President of Brazil receives homologist from Angola
The Brazilian president receives this Friday the Angolan homologous, on the second day of João Lourenço’s visit to Brazil. The day will be marked by the signing of agreements in the agricultural and energy sectors.
According to the Brazilian presidency, João Lourenço and his wife, Ana Dias Lourenço, should arrive at the Planalto Palace, in Brasilia, at 10:00 (14h00 in Lisbon), where they will be received by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his wife, Janja.
In the Planalto Palace, the two leaders will have a bilateral meeting, which will be preceded by a memorandum signing ceremony and a joint statement to the press.
The agreements will be centered on energy, through commitments between Petrobras state oil companies and Sonangol, but also from agricultural reinforcement, following a mission from the Brazilian agribusiness sector to Angola, held earlier this month.
In this mission participated about 30 Brazilian businessmen and the Brazilian Minister of Guardianship, Carlos Fávaro. There is a lunch at the Itamaraty Palace, the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a meeting with representatives of rural producers.
Brazil was the first country to recognize Angola after the country’s independence, on November 11, 1975, and the two countries have maintained a nearby bilateral relationship, with cooperation agreements in various areas.
