Presented a new website and app ‘Medvednica’: cards, roads, gastronomic offer …
The Zagreb City Tourist Board presented a new website and a Medvednica mobile application yesterday. It is, as they pointed out, a new digital platform that covers the western, central and eastern part of Medvednica, and brings users closer to mountaineering routes, homes, accommodation, gastronomic offer, proposals for activities and interactive maps of Zagreb’s favorite.
The presentation of the new platform was also Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević, who pointed out that the new website and the application are another step towards better information, sustainable tourism and more accessible stay in nature for all visitors.

– Medvednica has always been a favorite picnic area of Zagreb and Zagreb residents – a place of recreation, a healthy life and a respite in nature, literally at our fingertips. It is special because of its availability and this is one of the biggest advantages we have as a city. That is why we continue to invest in the development of infrastructure and content on Sljeme, such as works on the new four -seater and the reconstruction of the upper becomes old cable car – he said.
Through the website and application, the goal is to better inform and promote Medvednica, and this is the first time that visitors will have all the information in one place, simple and useful. The application also offers a weather and a hay forecast. The entire platform is available in Croatian and English.
– Our fellow citizens like to say ‘Let’s go to Sljeme’, a natural oasis in which we fill the batteries, breathe in fresh air, and briefly escape from the city everyday life. That is why I am extremely pleased that we have created this website and an app that in a simple and affordable way combine everything Medvednica has to offer. From mountaineering paths and homes, to gastronomy and proposal of activities, with information that enables users a safer and better stay in nature – said Martina Bienenfeld, director of the Zagreb Tourist Board.
She added that this project is the result of a great cooperation with the Croatian Mountaineering Federation, Medvednica Nature Park, HGSS, Croatian Forests, Branch Vladimir Nazor and Mountaineering Association of Zagreb. She thanked them for their dedicated work and expertise, and made special thanks to Damir Oslić Grga, who, with his personal engagement and knowledge of Medvednica, gave this project extra value.

– Our goal is to encourage sustainable use of Medvednica throughout the year, highlighting its many content and natural wealth and continue to strengthen cooperation with institutions that take care of our Sljeme daily – added Bienenfeld.
In order for the platform to gain international visibility, the Tourist Board has started cooperation with the British influencer and a lover of Croatia, Paul Bradbury, who has been living in Croatia for over twenty years. Through his experience and authentic views of Croatian destinations, Paul will bring Zagreb and Medvednica closer to the international audience as an accessible, sustainable and attractive natural oasis near the city.
