Presence at the ballot box. Diaspora votes massively
Over 157,000 voters appeared at the ballot box in the diaspora, until Saturday, at 12:00 (Romania time), to vote at the first round of the presidential elections, according to the data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority.
According to the AEP, from the opening of the ballot boxes, respectively on Thursday evening, 22:00 hours Romania (local time 7:00) and until Saturday, at 12:00, 157,404 Romanian citizens were presented.
Also, 4,106 voters voted by correspondence, the total votes expressed abroad being currently 161,510.
Most Romanian voters voted in Italy – 26,510, Germany – 23,393, United Kingdom – 22,521, Spain – 20.009, Republic of Moldova – 19,457, France – 7,218 Romanian citizens.

The vote in the diaspora in the presidential elections takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday:
* Friday, May 2, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);
* Saturday, May 3, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);
* Sunday, May 4, between 7:00 (local time) and 21:00 (local time of Romania).
