Presence at the ballot box by 21.00

Over 200,000 voters appeared at the ballot box in the diaspora, until Friday at 9:00 pm (Romania time), to vote at the second round of the presidential elections, according to the data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority.

According to the AEP, from the opening of the ballot boxes, namely on Thursday, 22:00 (Romania time), and until Friday at 9:00 pm, 200,777 Romanian citizens were presented at the ballot box.

Also, 3,139 voters voted by correspondence, the total votes expressed abroad being currently 203,916.

Most Romanian voters voted in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – 30,977, Italy – 29,759, Germany – 29,500, Republic of Moldova – 28.201, Spain – 23,112.

The vote in the diaspora in the presidential elections takes place over three days, from Friday to Sunday:

* Friday, May 16, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);

* Saturday, May 17, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);

* Sunday, May 18, between 7:00 (local time) and 21:00 (Romania time).

In the 965 polling stations in the diaspora organized for this year presidential elections, Romanian citizens who are abroad can vote on the day of the election, whether or not they have their domicile or residence abroad.
