Pregnant from Murtosa. Session with final allegations will be open to the public

The trial of defendant Fernando Valente, accused of murder of Monica Silva, the pregnant woman who disappeared in Murtosa in 2023 and whose body was not yet found, has elapsed at the closed door, but the court reported on Friday that the final allegations will be opened.

The “exclusion of advertising” was determined in this case to protect the dignity of the victim and his children, as the discussion of the intimate life of Monica Silva was expected during the trial.

However, the Court considers that the reasons for the closed door are no longer justified at the time of the final allegations.

“Oral allegations were also appointed to the next June 11, 2025, at 09h and 30h. Considering that at this moment the entire evidence will be produced, the Court understood that the grounds that justified the decision to exclude advertising will no longer subsist,” reads the sunrise of the sun.

Thus, the court ruled that « this restriction should not be in force in the phase of oral allegations, consequently determining that they result in a public act, without prejudice to the reserve of the right to the image of the interveners, without image and audio collection. »
