Pray for the Cardinal in the Pope

A Mass was called in the Catholic Church today to pray for the Cardinal who elect a new Pope, but the papacy began in the Sistine Chapel in Rome this afternoon.

« Cardinals of the Catholic Church have now gathered to elect a new pope. That is their role. But of course they need our help and assistance and therefore I sincerely want to ask all Catholics in our diocese and also all people who have good will,

It is not clear when the Pope’s election will be revealed, but the Cardinal will vote for a new Pope twice a day. The progress of the election is indicated by smoke from the chapel’s stump when the Cardinal’s ballots are burned. Black smoke means that no conclusion has been reached but white that a new pope has been selected.

Black smoke came from the chapel’s stump in the sixth time today and voting will continue tomorrow.
