Practical and cozy home lighting
Interior designer Dovilė Sakevičė tells the most important aspects to consider when choosing luminaires for all home spaces, while Senukai experts share a few practical tips.
Combine different lighting on the site
We spend most of our time on the site, and its space is often divided into zones, so it is crucial to take care of the different lighting of these spaces. The designer advises to combine both the general and accent and decorative lighting here, and when changing its intensity, to create a different atmosphere every time.
In the center of the living room, the main, all -light luminaire is needed, and in the lounge area where we watch TV, it is worth taking care of a more cozy light.
« Above the TV cabinet, the ceiling can be arranged by the diverted injected or anti -luminaires, which would be used by turning off the main luminaire. After all, spending time with family, you don’t want intense, dazzling light, useful when you need great visibility, » says D. Sakevičė.

LED lighting in the curtains will also help create a common cozy environment on the site. And a rail with directional spotlights that can illuminate a larger area or a particular area – the right solution in the common space or hallway of the living room, directing the light on the walls.
Wall decorative luminaires are also needed in the living area. They provide more light, useful when reading a book, can emphasize wall decor or artwork. Lamps for original, non -standard shapes can also become a stylish interior detail.
In order to enliven the living space environment, you can also choose the floor lamp. It is easy to transfer to another location, so it can be used both on the living room, on the terrace or in the bedroom.
In the bedroom – the non -distracting lighting of attention
In the bedroom, D. Sakevičė also recommends that you take care of several lighting options to adjust its brightness.
« The bedroom is a lounge that we return to relax, calm down, forget the day’s work and worries. Therefore, the overall ceiling lighting should not be very bright, not distracted. It is also worth considering the muted spot lighting in the curtain niches, » advises the interior professional.

According to Elona Uckutė, Kesko Senukai Lithuania Marketing Director, the customers usually choose neutral, ceiling -mounted or hung luminaires for the bedroom.
« In their lounge area, customers want subtle, non -distracting luminaires, so they give priority to minimalist solutions for the main lighting of the bedroom in both electronic and physical stores.
She is also seconded by the designer to present one non -standard solution: « Different luminaires can be combined to the bedroom bed: attaching the luminaire to the ceiling and lowering to the required height and using a BRA luminaire on the other side: it will look truly non -standard and original. »
Additionally Light Cooking and Eating Areas
The kitchen space is also not seamless, so it is not possible to limit yourself to the only lighting option. First of all, you should decide on the general lighting of this room.
« The main lighting is particularly suitable for the inlet LEDs – they do not drop shadows, so the light emanates at a broad angle. Such luminaires are minimalist, as if they are » invisible « , so they do not lower the ceiling optically. Another suitable solution is to adjust the LED straps or luminaires that allow the light flow, ”says D. Sakevičė.
Functional lighting used in specific kitchen spaces should also not be overlooked. More intense light should be illuminated by cooking and eating areas.
« When making food, you want a more intense light that is well lit with both countertops and stove. The most commonly used LED strips are built into hanging cabinets, shelves. And the dining area is commonly used with hanging luminaires. They not only perform their main function, Design expert.
Share relevant tips
Depending on the most common questions from customers, Senukai experts share a few topical tips.
1. Important not only aesthetic but also practical lighting function
The luminaire is an integral part of the interior that combines the details of the entire room decor into a whole. However, its practicality, which can be offered by smart light bulbs, is equally important. The luminaires for such bulbs are particularly practical as they allow the color and intensity of light changing.
You can also use electric light bulbs for accent lighting. Not only will these bulbs create a cozy home atmosphere, but you will also consume less electricity. Not only will this save you money, it will also contribute to the environment.
2. Choose a warm light
Cold light is more suitable for the work area when it is necessary to concentrate, and a more cozy home atmosphere helps create warm light. Its heat is measured in Kelvin: the smaller the number, the warmer the light. For example, 2700-3000 Kelvin bulbs or smart light bulbs, which can be adjusted as needed, are recommended in the living space.
3. Control the brightness of the light
Light flow is important for lighting. The lumens are counted for a square meter of room. Less intensive light should be in the bedroom and lounge – we recommend 150 lumens per square meter. The living room is recommended for light intensity-200 and at least 200-250 in the kitchen. In the work and learning zone, 300-400 lumens per square meter should be allocated. There is no need to choose only one luminaire – the required light flow can be assembled from several luminaires.
4. Lamps do not interfere with
The light sources in the room must be arranged in such a way that it does not interfere with the movement or endanger children and pets. Therefore, before installing the luminaires, make sure you hang them at the right height and do not prevent you from opening the door, cabinets or drawers.
5. Don’t be afraid to experiment
To maintain a seamless interior, you can choose the same manufacturer luminaires in all spaces of the home. However, for exceptionality, it is worth boldly combining different types of luminaires.
