PPC Group: Add 88 MW photovoltaic park to Bulgaria’s portfolio

Completed to the vision of further enhancing its leading role in the energy transition in Southeast Europe, the PPC Group reinforces its green portfolio with Agreement for receipt by completing and starting operation of the photovoltaic park under construction of a total power of 88 Mw in the village of Vedrare in the area of Karlovo, Central Bulgaria.

The project is already manufactured by the company, Chint Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Chint Group, which belongs to Astronergy, one of the largest photovoltaic frameworks in the world. The park, will be delivered to PPC Group after construction is completedand the launch of operation, the first quarter of 2026.

The project is Ideally placed in an area with high rates of sunshinenear one of Bulgaria’s main cargo centers (Plovdiv) with easy access and good existing infrastructure, and is just 150 kilometers from the capital, Sofia.

To build the photovoltaic park, they will be used 18.5 thousand double -sided panels of Astronergy, 264 Elementary Reds and 12 HT/MT production substations. The photovoltaic frame support system consists of single axis trackers, which are actively orientated by the frames and built-in back-tracking algorithms to increase the station’s productivity.

Estimated annual project energy production is expected to touch 140 gwhquantity capable of meeting the energy needs of more than 23,500 householdswhile the operation of the project is expected to prevent the broadcast of approximately 70 thousand tons of CO2 annually.

PPC Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Konstantinos Mavros, stressed that « The PPC Group is steady steps in expanding its portfolio in Southeast Europe, as described in the three -year strategic plan 2025 – 2027. After the photovoltaic station 165 Mw We started constructing the Stara Zagora area, we are boosting our presence in Bulgaria with yet another important project that contributes to the vision of the Group for Sustainable Transition to Green Energy not only in Greece but throughout Southeast Europe«

Two months ago, the PPC Group started construction of the 165 MW photovoltaic power stationpin the Stara Zagora area in central Bulgaria, as well as a Power Station25 MW’s rated power and 55 MWh installed, near the photovoltaic park. At the same time, the PPC Group is already operating in northern Bulgaria wind farm 18mw.

The PPC Group today has a total portfolio of RES projects of 6.2 GW in Greece, Romania, Italy and Bulgaria. The aim of the PPC Group’s investment plan is to have a RES installed to reach 11.8 GW by 2027.
