PPC 3×3 Street Basketball returns dynamically for the 2025 season!
The Hellenic Basketball Federation and PPC continue their successful cooperation for 4or Continuous year and invite young and old alike to experience a unique basketball experience that promises entertainment and sports. Having visited a total of 11 cities and after an impressive season for 2024, PPC 3 × 3 Street Basketball returns in 2025, continuing its journey throughout Greece.
This year’s program includes the following stops:
- April 5-6: Agia Paraskevi
- May 17-18: Aegina
- June 7-8: Santorini
- July 5-6: Kastoria
- July 12-13: Eleusis
- July 26-27: Sparta
With 878 athletes and athletes of all ages completed for 2024 the PPC 3 × 3 Street Basketball, organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (EEC) and PPC for the second consecutive year and exceeded 65% of the first season. Starting in April, PPC 3 × 3 Street Basketball traveled to six cities in Greece, where 342 races took place and recently ended the season at Katerini Beach with the final tournament.
For 2024, basketball appointments were made in Lamia, Argos, Mesolongi, Larissa, Tripoli and Katerini, where the squares were converted into 3 × 3 stadiums, full of energy from PPC, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces and their warmth. A total of 224 teams from Greece and abroad competed for… 6,840 minutes in the U14 Men, U16 Men, U18 Men, +18 Men, +18 Women.
The 3 × 3 is the most widespread group « street sport » in the world and is played with two opposing teams of three players, in a basketball, in half. The winner is the team that precedes when a game of a minute is completed or who first reaches 21 points.
Worldwide, 3 × 3 was played in stadiums and gyms around the world. Since the 1990s, it has been started, mainly from the US, 3 × 3 basketball tournaments and the standardization of its rules. In 2010 he first appeared in international competitions at the Youth Olympics in Singapore. Today FIBA is organizing an annual 3 × 3 World Tour, World and Continental Cups. The Olympic sport took place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where the gold medal in men won Latvia while in women the US.
Greece has national teams of 3 × 3 men, women, U23 and U17. The 3 × 3 is constantly rising, as can be seen from the response of athletes, clubs, the wider athletic public, as well as from the rise of our country and our national teams to the FIBA classification. This is also certified by the recent qualification of the U23 Women’s Team in the 3 × 3 World Cup.
The EEC, with its continuous and high support of PPC, has made the growth and promotion of 3 × 3 to one of its main pillars. The two organizations are working closely to carry out actions and events by jointly setting new goals that are aimed at further development of the sport and its dissemination, especially in the younger generation, throughout Greece.
