Powerful storms over Poland. Watch out for air troops
Firefighters had their hands full, conducting over 600 interventions throughout the country. A particularly difficult situation prevailed in Podkarpacie, where the number of actions was about 200.
Thus, the government’s warnings of the Government Security Center were confirmed, which previously sent alerts about possible violent weather phenomena in ten voivodships.
Storms in Poland. The most difficult situation in Podkarpacie
Karol Kierzkowski, spokesman for the Chief Commander of the State Fire Service, informed before 19.00 on Platform X that Podkarpackie firefighters conducted over 200 actions related to the liquidation of the effects of storms that passed over the region. He explained that these activities included, among others Pumping water from flooded basements, cleaning clogged road culverts and removing fallen trees and broken branches.
Forecast for Easter. Warning against air trumpets
According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, the storm system systematically moves further. Air trumpets can occur in the belt from the Lublin region to Kujawy. Second degree warnings were also issued against storms, which may be accompanied by wind gusts up to 100 km per hour. In the south of the country, heavy rainfall can lead to local flooding.
In addition, the Institute announced hydrological warnings of the first degree regarding rapid increases in the water level for the following voivodships: Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie, Świętokrzyskie, Śląskie, Lublin, Mazowieckie, Greater Poland, Łódź and Kuyavian-Pomeranian.
The weather will calm down this weekend
At night from Saturday to Sunday, weather conditions will start to stabilize. Above the majority of the country, cloud cover will be small or moderate.
The exception is Pomerania and some northern regions of Poland, where large cloudiness is expected.
