Postpone your work for as long as possible – that is smart and healthy

Postpone your work for as long as possible – that is smart and healthy

What always makes me very rebellious is from people who are negative about procrastination. Then I think: What do you mean? Prayer behavior is delicious, and everyone should do it as much as possible. I actually do little else all day.

Especially if something really needs to be done – writing a column, having a difficult telephone conversation, working, say – the true excorder comes up in me. Googling healthy recipes, writing my todo frame in the net, watching expensive houses on funda, plans for dream holidays for which I have no money – I now have a whole list for the optimum, maximum procrastination.

The whiners say that postponing stress, especially people with little discipline, and that it shows that you are little ‘committed’ to your obligations, so I read on all kinds of websites I consulted when I was postponing this column for as long as possible. Faint.

Because those arguments do not fall into the useful effect of postponing! Namely: by putting your brain under pressure you become sharper, more creative and you get more focus. They are also often perfectionists who postpone a lot – I’m just saying. Did Voskuil not write that entire desk series because he just postponed his work?

But postponing is especially very sized, because the moments you postpone, give your brain a lot of peace. Or well, if you postpone your work in the right way. And many people often go wrong there.

What I see all around me is that pending out things are going to do nevertheless things – so that is not the intention. Prayer behavior must be as useless as possible. Otherwise you will be at work!

So don’t wash, you finally do your declarations, eliminate your emails, bring the tax return, bring the bulky waste to the dump, or update your laptop. That is procrastination for beginners.

Professional bumpers will read the latest news on intranet! Do an online relationship test. Try to cut the nails of their cat/dog.

Instagram-Reels watch people who cut their cat/dog’s nails. Topping hand soap at the home office, turning the layout of their mail, updating their agenda-including focus time and colors per subject-and already put together the Christmas menu.

Or fill in surveys! Man, you can spend hours on that. About the new parking policy of your municipality, from children of colleagues who have to make a thesis. Or test ‘Yes, I would like to answer questions after this conversation’, to improve the customer -friendliness of your energy supplier, the Hema or the local garden center.

Or meet! Best procrastination ever. Why do you think so many managers do that? But also congresses, seminars, ‘events’. And of course come up with many things for your company. Pick a date for a team outing, together the purport Search, streamlining processes, strategically reflect.

What do I say: I know people who have made their profession into a postponement! Quartermakers, theme tractors, or drivers who make ‘charcoal sketches’. Or coordinators in committees that report their findings to a risk department. Anyway all people in a task force or a steering group. They really understood.

In fact, really good bumpers always start a new company. They call ‘serial entrepreneurs’, or ‘inspired entrepreneurs’. Haha really not. Those are just extreme offenders.

You are actually a WMO officer, but because you don’t feel like it, you start a car company, because you don’t want to finish that either, you start a missile company, if you have had enough of it again, buy a social medium, and then you will remediate the government. All of America, why not?! Make Procrastination Great Again!

In any case, I hope to be able to continue postponing for a long time. I also postpone my pension for as long as possible.

Because otherwise there is nothing more that I could postpone.
