Portugal with very high risk of exposure to UV radiation

Continental Portugal and the archipelagos of Madeira and Azores are this Friday and on the weekend at very high and high risk of exposure to Ultraviolet Radiation (UV).

According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the Third Lha, in the Azores, is the only region of the country that escapes at a very high level, becoming high.

Also throughout the weekend, mainland Portugal and the Madeira Archipelago are at risk of exposure to UV radiation.

For this Friday and for the next few days is expected to rise in the generality of mainland Portugal.

The ultraviolet radiation scale has five levels, between extreme and low risk. For extreme regions, the IPMA recommends to avoid sun exposure as possible.

With regard to very high risk regions, the IPMA advises the use of UV filter sunglasses, hat, t-shirt, umbrella, sunscreen and avoiding the exposure of children in the sun. The IPMA recommends for the high risk regions the use of sunglasses with UV filter, hat, t-shirt and sunscreen.

The institute foresees for this Friday and on the weekend on the continent little cloudy, weak wind and small rise in the maximum temperature in the North and Center.
