Portugal approves 205 million euros for military support to Ukraine
The Prime Minister announced that Portugal approved a resolution on a Council of Ministers on Thursday to authorize expense up to “205 million euros for military support to Ukraine”.
In “Portugal, while we were holding this meeting, we were deciding on the Council of Ministers in Lisbon, the permission of the expense of 205 million euros, which materializes military support on equipment, in various areas that will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces so that they can not only continue to combat, but to ensure, in a peace process, all the distress for Ukraine and European security to be safeguarded, ”said Luís Montenegro.
The “coalition of the countries willing” to support Ukraine “once again accentuates a spirit of union in Europe”, with the European Union (EU) partners and the Atlantic Alliance, but also with Turkey, Iceland, Canada, said the Portuguese head of government over the Elisha Palace, Paris.
According to Luís Montenegro, this effort aims to “a peace process that can bring just and lasting peace with the involvement of Ukraine, with the involvement of Europe”, but also ensuring the allied commitments.
