According to a media report, the sports car manufacturer Porsche is considering relocating parts of final assembly from Germany to the USA in order to alleviate the effects of US tariffs. Porsche could shift steps of the final assembly process such as the installation of interior components or the assembly of tires to overseas, « Bloomberg » reported on Friday, citing insiders. Other measures would also be checked.
A Porsche spokesman emphasized that there are currently no plans for a Porsche production in the USA.
