NBU Chairman Andriy Pyshny stated that Petro Poroshenko’s accusations of political persecution are unfounded and harming trust in the regulator.

About it reports the National Bank’s head, in response to statement Poroshenko.

« For the first time, the National Bank of Ukraine, which I head, has received a direct accusation of political order and irresponsibility, » Pyshny said.

According to him, the planned check of the MIB Bank, whose beneficiary is Poroshenko, was announced in December 2024 and covers a total of about 40 clients.

On the eve of Petro Poroshenko, the fifth President of Ukraine and the People’s Deputy, he stated that the National Bank allegedly inspects his charity fund, Roshen corporation and the public organization « Community Case », which, in his opinion, is an attempt at political pressure. He also suggested that the NBU’s actions could damage the support of the Armed Forces.

Lush stressed that the NBU does not directly check the Poroshenko Fund, neither the Roshen Foundation, nor the NGO « Community Case », as the politician states: « An international investment bank itself must be carried out in accordance with the law. »

« MIB Bank check does not in any way block the operational activities of the bank’s clients. The NBU did not send requests to the mentioned funds and NGOs, » he added.

The NBU Chairman also urged Poroshenko to provide evidence of the accusations or to publicly refute them: « I demand public pressure from the NBU to publicly publicly publicly, letters sent to the company to ask or other documents. In the absence of them, to refute the statement. »

The National Bank emphasizes that the check is concerned with currency supervision, in particular non -return of revenue and the non -paid goods over the last three years.

« By publishing such accusations, Poroshenko deliberately draws the NBU into a political confrontation, fully aware of the consequences of undermining confidence in the Central Bank, » Pishny said.
