Popular tax deduction has returned

In 2025, the craftsman’s deduction is back after several years on the bench, and this is felt in the construction industry, where some of the disappointed Danes have also received grants for their energy -enhancing projects via the pool last year.

« Even if you have sought the energy renovation pool, there may be some who do not get as much as they had hoped or maybe even get a refusal. It can be a stick in the wheel for people, but in return the craftsman’s deduction is back this year and it can be a patch on the wound, » says Jesper Johansson, sales director at Sparvinduer.

Here, the invitation is that one should focus more on the craftsman’s allowance.

« We could feel it when the craftsman’s deduction was gone and it made more people hold back. Now we find that the Danes are ready to move on their housing projects again. There are simply more people who are interested in switching to energy windows when there is an opportunity to deduct some money in tax. The energy renovation pool is, ”says Jesper Johansson.

He notes that the two things cannot be combined. Thus, you cannot get both support via the energy renovation pool and deduct the craftsman’s salary via the craftsman’s deduction.

Only craftsman’s salary is deductible

In 2025, the craftsman’s allowance is targeted ‘green renovation’ of the home, including, for example, energy windows.

Although the deduction has been smaller since 2022, when it was last smoked, after all, a deduction of up to DKK 8,600 per person can be obtained.

However, one must be aware that it is not all that can be deducted from SKAT via the craftsman’s allowance.

« It is important to be aware that it is the work wages for the craftsmen that can be deducted and not the materials you need for your energy renovation. If you want to replace for energy windows, it is the installation of the new windows that are deductible, » explains Jesper Johansson, adding:

« Furthermore, it is important that it is a VAT -registered company that performs the task, and you have to make sure that the work is provided where the salary expenses appear separately. In addition, the payment must have been made electronically, » Jesper Johansson points out and refers to the fact that further information on the craftsman’s allowance can be found on SKAT’s website.
