Pope Leo fourteenth is ready to mediate among the warring countries in the world
Pope Leo said today that he is ready to mediate among the leaders of the countries at war, saying he personally « will do everything to rule peace ».
The new head of the Catholic Church, which took over the leader of 1.4 billion Catholics around the world last week, addressed the believers gathered at the Paul Six Hall at the Vatican at an event dedicated to the 2025 jubilee and 23 eastern Catholic Churches.
– From the Holy Land to Ukraine, from Lebanon to Syria, from the Middle East to Tigraj and the Caucasus, how much violence we see. I say that I will do everything to rule peace – the Pope said and urged the crowd to pray for peace.
He stated that the Holy See is always ready to help bring the parties closer to the conflict to « be able to face each other, talk and to be able to re -find the hope and dignity they deserve – the dignity of peace ».
– The peoples of our world want peace. From the bottom of my heart I appeal to the leaders: Let’s meet, talk, to negotiate! – added Pope Leo for the fourteenth.
This is the first major diplomatic exit of the new American Pope since it is elected, and comes at a time when brutal armed conflicts occur in many regions – from Ukraine to the Middle East and Africa. The Holy See traditionally tries to play the role of peacemaker, and Pope Leo has made it clear that he wants to further emphasize that role during his pontification.
