The latter is supported by the ministries in charge of Ecology, Health, Labor and Agriculture.

Every two years, separate samples of 3,150 people will be analyzed. Among the respondents, « Children and () adults, selected at random on more than a hundred areas of surveys randomly distributed in the territory ». The survey will include a questionnaire devoted to housing, profession and family, a self -screening (on lifestyle, health, eating, physical activity), a food study, a measure of physical activity over seven days and a health examination. The latter will include samples of urine and hair from participants over 3 years old and blood samples for those over 6 years of age.

The data collected by the Albane survey will notably allow« Establish exposure reference values ​​from the levels of impregnation of the population to the substances present in the environment » such as pesticides. Associated with the data of the National Health Data System (SNDS), these data must show « What are the diseases developed according to exposures, eating habits and characteristics of the environment described or measured ».

They will also feed other ANSES works aimed at establishing reference toxicological values ​​for a substance-the level from which it represents a health risk. Its results are eagerly awaited as the debates are numerous on the health consequences of the use of pesticides (Pfas,, neonicotinoids,, glyphosateetc.).

This global vision of the state of health of the population will be able to guide public policies such as the national nutrition and health program, the national food plan or the national biosurveillance strategy. These data will also be made available to research teams in France and internationally, to better characterize the links between health, environment and food. The first results are not for now because they will be published in early 2028.
