– Politics in the wrong direction
When several of my younger friends, students at Alta high school, say that the school, City and other arenas no longer feel safe. Then the municipality moves in a direction I think is wrong.
It is clear that as a municipality, it is our duty to receive and to help people on the run and in need. However, I would argue that as a municipality, we have made a serious mistake when poor integration is at the expense of others.
For we who are young in Alta today, know what is going on in the hallways of school. There is unprovoked fighting and use of violence, which of course creates a sense of insecurity for those who see, and is affected by this.
It is also not to hide under a chair that this is linked to the municipality's previous intake of refugees. When such unprovoked violence is a problem, one can ask yourself how good we are at integrating.
If the municipality had had the capacity, time, advice and desire, we would have led a better and safer integration policy, and most likely such violence would not have been a problem. It is clear that many of those who come also come with different luggage in the form of trauma and painful experiences.
Unfortunately, in some cultures it is also common to use violence as a tool, especially in honor -related cultures. Then it helps even less in importing violence capital. A good integration policy would give them help to deal with this.
For unprovoked violence does not belong anywhere. It therefore scares me that the position in the municipality decided to receive 80 new refugees in 2025. When it is clear that the 164 we received in 2024 do not receive the help or follow -up they deserve.
For us in Frp, it is quite clear that we should not accept more refugees in 2025. This is not about « not wanting to help » as more people said at the previous municipal council meeting. It's about those we have already received not getting the help they deserve, and this is at the expense of others with people. We have neither the capacity nor the finances to follow everyone well enough today.
