In previous terms, politicians have broadly demonstrated literary abilities in their activity reports, and recently this tradition has disappeared.

The settlements of the current council members are transmitted by bureaucratic language, essentially formal and uninteresting.

A frequent highlight is the number of meetings per year, which, by the way, is important to the members of the Council themselves, as the attendance of the meetings depends on the salary paid to them.

It is true that the only one of all – Vidmantas Dambrauskas has abandoned the salary of a member of the council and has worked and still works free of charge.

« I attended 39 meetings with communities, sports and culture, ordinary townspeople. Speaking more precisely, I attended all meetings that I was invited as a council member. Dambrauskas, he added that he had never used a member of the council to resolve personal issues.

About the source of strength

One of the most common accents emphasized in the reports of the Council members is the connection with the voters and the importance of the problems of Klaipeda residents.

« I dealt with voter complaints, comments, proposals, statements. The opposition had comments

The reports of politicians in the opposition feel not so much to boast of the work they have done, but to the criticism of the rulers.

Laura Šaltytė-Vaiuskė, a member of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LDK), explained in her report why voting on 2024-2026. The change in the strategic activity plan abstained.

The ruling majority politicians also had the activities of the Council, which had not happened before.

Due to disagreements with his colleagues on this issue, L. Makūnas claims to withdraw from the political committee « Faithful to Klaipeda ».

It was L. Makūnas in 2024. The activity report is the most comprehensive and most critical.

« I did not support, abstained or voted against draft solutions that, in my opinion, would be simply a waste of Klaipeda city and residents, would not have real benefits to the city or would have negative consequences for public health, » said Romaldas Idzelevičius, another ruling majority.
