Political entities respect electoral silence, the media not to publish electoral spots
This Saturday marks the electoral silence in the country for all political entities after a month of campaigning for the May 11th parliamentary elections.
The State Commissioner of the Ilirjan Celibashi has ordered « full respect for electoral silence, which prohibits any kind of campaign or electoral call, including on social media ».
According to Celibashi, « Electoral subjects should not address political or electoral messages during electoral silence, in no way. »
The chief commissioner has also decided to ban the publication of the transmission of spots, advertising and electoral messages during the electoral silence.
« Prohibition of publication/transmission of spots/advertising and electoral messages in all media bodies including social networks and online media in the period of electoral silence. This decision shall come into force immediately and is published on the official website of the Central Election Commission. Appeal against this decision may be appealed to the Commission of Appeals and Sanctions within 3 (three) days.

In the parliamentary elections, the right to vote, according to data published by the Ministry of Interior, has 3 713 761 Albanian citizens, at home and abroad, of which 114 642 young people will vote for the first time. /Ag/
