« Policewoman » told her to pay 34 thousand. The taxi driver was vigilant
The senior from Tychy received a disturbing phone from a woman claiming to be a policewoman. The fraudster convinced her that she fell victim to criminals and the only solution is to pay money. The senior went to the bank and paid over PLN 34,000, not suspecting that she was dealing with fraud.
The taxi driver saves the situation
After paying the money, the senior got into a taxi, which was to take her to the place of transferring cash. The taxi driver, seeing her nervousness, became suspicious and stopped, pretending to be a car failure. He notified the police who quickly arrived and explained the situation of the senior, saving her savings.
Warnings against fraudsters
The police repeatedly call for alertness towards fraudsters who use various methods to get money. Fraudsters often pretend to be family members, bank employees or policemen, offering help in difficult situations. It is important not to trust such conversations and contact the police in case of suspicion.
How to react to suspicious situations?
The police appeal to witnesses of suspicious situations so that they do not remain indifferent. If we see that an elderly person is transferring money or pays a large amount of cash, it is worth asking for details and in case of doubt contact the police. Such actions can prevent a crime and protect someone from losing savings.
