Policemen from the police station in Szprotawa have been conducting intensive operational activities in the criminal environment for a long time. Their observation and effective diagnosis led to the selection of a place where illegal production of psychotropic substances could be carried out.

On Tuesday, June 10, criminal entered one of the properties in the Żagań poviat. There, in a residential building, they found four surprised men. During the search of the rooms, officers came across containers with suspicious liquids, laboratory equipment and substances whose appearance suggested that they were intoxicants.
Due to the presence of chemicals and a potential threat, a specialized chemical unit of the State Fire Service from Zielona Góra was called. Only after checking the safety of the rooms it was possible to start further actions.
180 kg of the drug was to hit the market
Under the supervision of the prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Żagań, experts from the KWP criminal laboratory in Gorzów Wielkopolski, technicians and investigators worked on the spot. After a few hours, the research confirmed – it was a large -scale amphetamine production.
During two -day activities, among others 93 liters of liquid amphetamine, several hundred liters of chemicals and 10 kg of drug precursors. According to police findings, the disclosed substances could be obtained over 180 kg of a ready drug, whose black market value exceeds PLN 7 million.
Four people arrested. They face up to 20 years in prison
Among the detainees they found themselves Two residents of the Żagań poviat (aged 29 and 44) and two men from the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (aged 31 and 33). All four heard allegations of action jointly and in agreement, in order to achieve financial benefits, by producing and possessing significant amounts of psychotropic substances.
In addition, the owner of the property will be responsible for illegal possession of firearms – it was revealed during a search of his place of residence. According to the police, the weapon was secured.
On Thursday, June 12, the District Court in Żagań accepted the prosecutor’s request and applied a three -month detention on a three -month detention.
The detainees are threatened with harsh penalties. Pursuant to the provisions of the Act on counteracting drug addiction – in particular art. 53, 56 and 62 – The production and possession of significant amounts of psychotropic substances are punishable by imprisonment of up to 20 years.
