Policeman, offender for a drug network
A number of 11 people, including a policeman from the Neamț County Police Inspectorate, were arrested for the establishment of an criminal group accused of trafficking in risk and high risk, in continuous form and carrying out, without law, of products, knowing that they are likely to have psychoactive effects.
According to a statement of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR), during January 2025, four of the people would have been an organized criminal group, based on friendship, in order to obtain important money, from the marketing of prohibited substances.
Within the organized crime group, two of the people would have acted mainly on the area of procurement and high risk drugs, cannabis and crystalline substance, which would have been marketed with amounts between 40 and 60 lei, respectively 250-350 lei, the members of the criminal group giving each other in the sale of the forbidden substances.
‘During 2025, the members of the criminal group have repeatedly sold cannabis and crystalline substance 2 mmc, to consumers from Neamț county. The investigations carried out highlighted that, at the same time, 8 other persons, not affiliated with the organized crime group, but in a collaboration relationship with its members, would have purchased, owned and marketed different quantities of risk drugs, high risk and psychoactive substances, to consumers, including minors (students), between 60 lei, with 250 lei. On May 11, 21 home search warrants were carried out, where 37 pots with cannabis plants were discovered and raised, located in different stages of development, quantities of cannabis and crystal portioned and packaged in foils, several bags with crystalline substance, 15 blisters with cannabis seeds, grid, species, amounts of money in lei and currency, as well as other means of proof ‘, states the statement sent by the IGPR.
DIICOT prosecutors – Neamț Territorial Office have ordered 12 people, between the ages of 18 and 55. The judge of rights and freedoms within the Neamț Court ordered the preventive arrest of 10 persons and the measure of arrest at home, for another person, for 30 days, and against another person, the DIICOT prosecutors – the Neamț Territorial Office took the measure of judicial control.
‘Among the preventive arrested persons are a police officer from the Neamț County Police Inspectorate, respectively a 48 -year -old man, who would have disclosed information not intended for the advertising of some members of the criminal group. Depending on the result of the research and the evolution of the investigation, which benefit from the direct support of the Neamț County Police Inspectorate, in accordance with the legal provisions, the management of the institution will have legal measures. Also, the institution is firmly delimited by any activity that is not in accordance with the law. Regardless of the quality of the person who violates the legal provisions, all the measures provided by law will be taken. We support all the activities specific to the criminal procedures and we have as a desire the functioning of the system only with integral and professional policemen ‘, it is stated in a press release sent by the IGPR.
The action was carried out with the support of the police officers of the Bacău Organized Crime Fighting Brigade, the Neamț County Police Inspectorate and the gendarmes from the Neamț and Bacău County Gendarmes Inspectorates.
