The Polder police zone held targeted checks in the context of drug puncture and sale on Thursday night. Certain hotspots are also monitored. « During an observation of a home, the police noticed how a car left the house and drove away, » says Griet the Prest of the West Flanders Public Prosecutor’s Office. « The police followed the car that suddenly ran away. » The car drove away at full speed and the chase with several police vehicles was used. After a short chase, the car could be intercepted in handy.
« That happened when the car was left in a parking lot, » continues the prest. « On board it turned out to be three people who all fleeed. The police were able to arrest a 51-year-old man fairly quickly while the two of them put it up. Polder called in assistance Van Speurdoonds and from the police helicopter Rago. He was already in the air through a previous police action in Zone Grensleie. »
The helicopter was quickly on site and scoured the area in the center of handy, including in Konevoordestraat. On the ground, the police took the surroundings and all the gardens off with different teams, but the two passengers could escape.
