Police seize 28,000 euros and large batch of illegal cigarettes in Kuregemwijk (Brussels)

The Brussels police held a large multidisciplinary action in the Kuregemwijk in Anderlecht on Friday evening around 8 p.m. In addition, they have seized 28,000 euros and demanded a large batch of illegal cigarettes. One business was sealed judicial during the promotion.

The multidisciplinary action was aimed at illegal trade and economy. The Zuid police zone, in collaboration with the Brussels Parket and the Federal Inspection Services, checked a host of commercial matters in Kuregem.

During the promotion, the police arrested a total of six people judicial on suspicion of money laundering. Five people were arrested administratively, three of which for Zwartwerk and two for illegal stay in Belgium. Several mobile phones were also seized, as well as 5,841 packs of illegal cigarettes (in three different businesses, ed) and 18 kilograms of shishebak.

The police have also administratively sealed two commercial matters due to black work. One business was sealed judicial for illegal cigarettes trade. The police have drawn up a total of 13 official reports for various infringements of social legislation.(BLG)
