Police reports assault in Gasperich and Neudorf

On Tuesday evening and the following night there were two violent arguments in Luxembourg city, each with a man was injured. The police have started investigations in both cases.

The first incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Cloche d’Or in the Gasperich district. As the police said, a man was addressed by a group of strangers and asked for a cigarette. When he rejected this, one of the men attacked him. The victim suffered injuries and had to be taken to a hospital for treatment. The perpetrators managed to escape.

Just a few hours later, on Wednesday night, another case of assault was reported-this time at Rue de Neudorf in the Neudorf-Weimerskirch district. There a police patrol met an obviously alcoholic man with a cut. According to initial knowledge, there had been a dispute between the victim and a friend in the course of which the man was injured with a knife. According to the police, the injury was superficial, but the victim was taken to the hospital.

The alleged perpetrator could be placed near the crime scene. A knife was found with him and confiscated at the order of the public prosecutor.
