Police interrupted the Elocapina demonstration at Atria Broiler Factory
Seinäjoki|Demonstrators insist on the power production of broilers down in a controlled way in Finland.
Police says Having arrested 26 protesters at an activist group on Saturday’s demonstration at the Atria Broiler Factory in Nurmo, Seinäjoki. According to police, those arrested are suspected of being bullied against the police.
Police say the arrests have gone calmly.
In the past, police said they had suspended the demonstration and started moving protesters from the area.
Police According to a group of about 50 people prevented traffic from the factory area. Police said the protesters were inside the factory area and they were sitting in front of the transportation. Elocapina said in a news release that it had prevented only one truck from moving.
The purpose of the demonstration was to demand from the Finnish government that the power production of the broilers should be driven down in a controlled manner and that Finland gradually shifts to plant -based food production.
« It is incomprehensible how chicken consumption is only increasing, even though we know about the unethicality of intensive care, health hazards and effects on the environment, » the media contact person Erika Ojanperä said in the bulletin.
Police received a report of the demonstration shortly after noon.
