Police denies, but this morning again relaxed border controls at Zaventem: trade union wants to stop against « problematic communication » (inland)

Between 7.50 am and 8.40 am this morning and on departing flights around 10 am this morning there were adjusted border controls at the airport of Zaventem. At the order of the above, agents from the airport police were given the motto to carry out more limited border controls. This on the basis of Article 9, say because of force majeure.

In human language: too few staff, too large number of passengers, the condition of the buildings, even the chance of riots. For that reason, passports were not scanned for almost two hours. Travelers only received a visual check based on the photo on their passport. In this way, for example, the police were unable to intercep it.

Two sources confirm to our editors that Article 9 was also invoked on Saturday morning at two different times. Earlier this happened several times in the past week, by order from above.

The practice is at odds with what the federal police themselves sent the world on Saturday.
