Police arrest three Dutch people for attacks in Mortsel and Hove that brother of drug criminal ‘Piwi’ seemed to be visiting (inland)

The police arrested three Dutch people on Tuesday. The suspects are said to be involved in two attacks from last summer, in Mortsel and Hove. The older brother of drug criminal Zakaria ‘Piwi’ Ek then seemed to be the target for two nights in a row.

The first of a total of two attacks against the EK family took place on Wednesday 31 July. Around 3 o’clock in the morning against the home of Mohamed Ek, in the Jan Frans Gellyncklaan in Hove, an explosive. The facade of the house was badly damaged, but there were no injuries.

A day later, on August 1, the sports club of Mohamed Ek, in the Krijgsbaan in Mortsel, also exploded an explosive. « Why do I have to pay as a hard -working father for the actions of my younger brother? » Ek responded after that second attack Gazet van Antwerpen. It therefore seemed that the criminals visited his younger brother Zakaria ‘Piwi’.
Piwi ‘is a well -known name in the drug environment. He was sentenced to ten years in prison in the Medrepair file and has since been fleeing. Mohamed was also prosecuted in that file, but he was acquitted across the line.

In March, the correctional court in Antwerp Piwi imposed another ten years in prison for his involvement in the import of ten parties cocaine via the port of Antwerp.
The Antwerp public prosecutor demanded an investigating judge after both attacks. « In the context of that current judicial investigation, the Federal Judicial Police (FGP) Antwerp carried out house searches at four different addresses in Arnhem, Amersfoort, Bemmel and Huissen on Tuesday, » says public prosecutor Kato Belmans. Three suspects, Dutch men aged 20, 22 and 38, were arrested. « The investigating judge asked the tradition for them. The police also took 39 Cobra’s, mobile phone devices and cash money, » says Belmans. « The judicial investigation is continued by FGP Antwerp under the leadership of the investigating judge. »
