Poles showed their Easter baskets. One thing surprises the most
Tradition says that in the Easter basket They should be: eggs (symbolizing a new life), in Poland in the form of Kraszanek and Easter eggs, a lamb of cake, icing or chocolate with a flag of alleluia, to symbolize the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In addition to eggs and a lamb in the basket, you should also put in it – salt, which is to protect against corruption, bread, horseradish, sausages, honey, pepper and Easter grandmother. Foods are holy on Holy Saturday, and the next day at Easter, share them with the household members before starting the Easter breakfast.
This year, we asked our readers to send us photos of their baskets. In response, we received a lot of photographs. One thing surprised us very much.
All photos show how much importance Poles attach to the decoration of their baskets. Almost all are decorated with beautifully embroidered napkins, ribbons, lace, and baskets protrude live, green branches of myrtle or boxwood, spring flowers and figurines of bunnies, chickens and lambs.
We thank our readers for the photos sent and we wish you a happy Easter!
