Poland develops faster than Western countries-why is it
Poland is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. Exports, well -educated and flexible labor are the main drivers of growth, and experts also talk about the special « Polish entrepreneurial gene ».
This « entrepreneurial gene » manifested itself with full force in 2024, when over 353,000 new companies were created in Poland. The country is also among the most working nations in Europe in terms of average weekly working hours, according to German Business Insider.
Income is growing
Marcin Voivodka, an expert in labor law, says the Poles can « move even mountains » if they are motivated and see « the immediate effect of their actions ». And he does not talk about the « Polish plumber », which became proverbial in Western Europe, but about the courage and willingness to take risks. « The Poles are able to grit their teeth, focus on the task and take the most direct paths to achieve the desired result, » said Voivodka, quoted by the German edition.
And the results are also good. The Swiss « Neuie Zurher Zeitung » (NCC) reports that the average gross salary in Warsaw, which is the highest in the country, amounts to 10 150 evil (about 2400 euros). According to the Poland Statistical Service, the average wage in the country at the end of 2024 was just over 1950 euros, which is about 10% more than the previous year.
The standard of living is growing
However, the differences in regions are visible: in the eastern parts of the country bordering the Russian Kaliningrad region, with Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine, the income reaches a maximum of 70% of these central and western Poland – for the same labor. The highest (over 10,000 misery, or about 2,300 euros) for several years, are salaries in Krakow and Warsaw.
Three reasons for the height of the Polish economy
According to some forecasts, the growth of Polish GDP will reach 3.5% this year, while in 2024 it was 2.9%. Experts indicate three main reasons for the growth of the Polish economy. First, Polish exporters find new niches in foreign markets and remain competitive despite increasing labor costs.
And third, relatively large public investment, in part with the help of European funds, played the role of an additional catalyst for the economy.
Poland develops faster than the rest of the EU
« Poland is developing faster than Western European countries, and the years in which this was not the case is counted on the fingers of one hand, » says economist Piotr Bartkevich in front of Business Insider.
